Who we are
Dr Vicki Rice Weber
Vicki has a Phd in working with depression and anxiety, helping clients to find experiences of lightness and aliveness which reduce the heaviness of depression and frequency of anxiety.
Vicki’s experience is wide ranging, Vicki trained initially in Social Work and Social Science at Oxford University and has worked in prisons, Adult Mental Health Services and with young people. Vicki’s Masters was in working with young people with eating disorders. Vicki worked at the Brook Advisory Service for many years and at Highlands College counselling young people as well as in private practice.
Steve Le Long
BSc(Hons) Psychology, PGCert Mental Health Studies, PGCert Philosophy, Dip Counselling, MBACP (Reg)
Steve is a fully qualified and registered BACP Counsellor and Wellbeing Practitioner. Steve has worked as a Support Worker and Counsellor for over 20 years and has worked with the States of Jersey for 12 years in a variety of settings.
Steve has a wide range of experience having worked with people struggling with emotional difficulties as well as people struggling with substance misuse difficulties.
In his teaching Steve aims to equip students with the tools and knowledge that will build their confidence in offering the right support to their clients. Steve strives to inspire interest and create an interactive learning experience for all.
Ruth Le Cocq
Ruth is a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP, who has spent nearly a decade working therapeutically with clients in several agency settings in Jersey.
She has a particular interest in supporting people experiencing stress, anxiety and PTSD and encourages her clients to listen to bodily sensations, which often reflect the emotions they are feeling. Exploring self-soothing techniques then help her clients to see things more clearly thus encouraging them to reflect upon their thoughts and behaviour towards themselves and others.
Ruth is also a qualified yoga teacher offering a gentle, safe and effective form of yoga which releases tensions held in the deep core muscles in and around the pelvic area and spine, thus soothing both body and mind.
Marilyn Carre
Marilyn Carre is a well qualified BACP accredited Psychotherapist. Marilyn has a wealth of experience and qualifications behind her. She has, in the span of her career, been manager of the Hospice Bereavement Service, worked with offenders and young people and her Masters Degree focused on a new methodology for working with rape and indecent assault survivors.
In recent years Marilyn has been a generic practitioner in Private Practice and has been involved in a range of creative teaching projects. Marilyn has been a Counselling trainer on the Skills and Diploma courses for over 20 years and has also taught for the Open University.
