‘When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched, you begin to discover that it’s bottomless, that it doesn’t have any resolution, that this heart is huge, vast and limitless. You begin to discover how much warmth and gentleness is there, as well as how much space.’
These workshops link in with the Mindfulness course and Tibetan Buddhist workshops and are for people who wish to experience the potential of compassion practises at a deeper level.
We will explore how Mindfulness and self-compassion are linked, how they each relate to wellbeing, and how these states of heart and mind can best be developed. We will consider the benefits of treating oneself with warmth and kindness rather than self criticism and how kindness opens our hearts to suffering both in ourselves and others.
One of the most consistent findings in research literature is that greater self-compassion is linked to less anxiety and depression. Self compassionate people tend to experience increased levels of happiness and optimism as well as more satisfying relationships.
These workshops will run from 9.30 to 12.30 in response to demand. We will try to be flexible in response to the group’s needs in relation to whether we run these on weekends or weekdays.
